Target Lock Demo
This is a demo for a top down RPG game set in Lovecraft Country. Mostly it was built to try out the targeting system. Please give feedback!
Key notes
- After you eat the breakfast head outside and go east to the next area to find the target range
- At the target range you will be introduced to the combat system
- Press A to cycle through enemies
- Your current target is denoted with a blinking target symbol above their head
- Press B to shoot at the targeted enemy
- Your aim is not always perfectly accurate
- If you move or shoot your aim will worsen. Standing still will improve your aim
- Your aiming accuracy is show in a gauge at the top left of the screen. A small dot/line in the gauge means perfect accuracy. A large symbol in the gauge means large potential inaccuracy.
- In the demo there are three different gauge style. The final game will only have one. Let me know which is the easiest to read
- Some enemies are aware that you are aiming at them. Use that to your advantage.
- Solid tiles will block shots. Use the cover to your advantage!
